Brooke Shields Baby Shower Party

Fellow celeb and former child star Brook Shields has also had her share of baby showers. While there was more news of her postpartum depression problems with her first daughter, Rowan, there were reportedly three baby showers held in his honor.

The first one was held in her apartment with husband Chris Henchy, sadly, the day after the death of her father. There was another baby shower given for Rowan by fashion designer Liz Lange and sponsored by Target. About eighty guests showed up for a fashion show and a welcome sign of “It's a girl!” with the Target logo on the “i” spelled out with carnations on the lawn of a friend's estate in Malibu.

For her second daughter Rowan, Brooke simply requested that the baby shower be one including her male friends. Actor Steven Weber and his wife Juliette Hohnen hosted the Moroccan themed baby shower at their Los Angeles home for 35 guests.

Moroccan touches were evident all over with pillar candles, antique Arabian style lamps, and rose petals were scattered around the house. At the entrance of the residence, cards were piled on a table decorated with a drawing made by Rowan of herself and the baby for the guests to write their well-wishes on and hang on a wishing tree. The cards were actually done as a surprise for her mother, who couldn't believe that her daughter had drawn them. The eye-catching tree was created from curving branches painted a striking glossy ebony and was weighted down with pine cones in a tall cylindrical vase. White votive candles in clear glass holders surrounded the tree.

A beautiful yet unusual addition was a stork topiary created by Wendy Bellissimo that entailed individually hand-pinning white rose petals to a wire form. This was definitely a great favorite with the children when it was positioned carrying a little flower basket suspended from white satin ribbons.

Guests like Ben Stiller had beef skewers and couscous for dinner and mint martinis to sip before the speeches started to flow. Practical yet luxurious favors were a box of Godiva G chocolates and potted mint plants for creating home-made mojitos.
