Neither is there a mama hotter than Kimora Lee Simmons and this hot mama threw a baby shower heavy on the fabulosity just before she gave birth to the baby she and Oscar nominated actor Djimon Hounsou were expecting.
Described as “leaning heavily toward the blue team,” this predominantly blue and white baby shower was thrown for soon-to-be-born baby Kenzo with about fifty guests in attendance. Making up the party were Stevie Wonder with his wife Kai, Carolyn Banks (Tyra Banks' mom), actress Holly Robinson Peete, and Kimora's daughters from her previous marriage to music mogul Russel Simmons Ming Lee and Aoki Lee.
Their whole house was dressed in blue, with bunches of light blue, dark blue, and white balloons decorating both the inside and the outside.
The three-tiered baby shower cake was a definite attention-getter. The cake was covered with blue and white striped fondant and the center tier was a solid blue with white patterns. Topped with a teddy bear that sported a gold crown, it was easy to guess who the crown prince of the household was going to be!
Kimora and Djimon served their guests a sumptuous meal of sliced prime rib, crab, shrimp, lobster, caviar, macaroni and cheese, poached salmon, and for dessert, tarts topped with raspberries and blueberries, differently decorated mini cakes in red velvet and Jamaican rum flavors, and a white chocolate fondue fountain with fruits and marshmallows for dipping. Blue cotton candy was one of the treats for the kids.
Activities included face-painting for the children and, knowing Kimora, definitely lots more.
Can you have a baby shower based on Kimora's? Yes you can, and you can add a few touches of your own, too, based on the Baby Phat line.
Baby Phat's slinky feline logo is known very well in the fashion world. That sexy little cat has been seen everywhere, why not at your baby shower, too? Use cats for the theme of your baby shower, and extremely hot pink and silver. This of course works perfectly well if the mommy-to-be is expecting a little girl, but you can always rely on good old blue and white if you're going to have a boy.
Another character that figures heavily in Baby Phat is Hello Kitty. This little Japanese cat is seen in many of the accessories and designs found in Baby Phat. You could also do a blingy Hello Kitty! Kitty is usually seen in red, so that would be a great option for a gender-neutral baby shower.
Another touch you can adapt is to gear your party towards the kids.
While the teddy bear cake probably didn't have enough bling to suit
Kimora, and the blue cotton candy is dangerous to any diet, she
had them at her baby shower because she knew her kids would enjoy
them. It's little touches like this that can give your baby shower
any fabulosity that it needs!
